Where does Pre-Algebra begin?
« on: March 26, 2011, 09:06:13 am »
For me, I skipped the pre-algebra stage and went straight through to Algebra, however, some can not do this. I want to know your opinion on where Pre-Algebra begins and ends. There will also be a topic in the ALGEBRA forum for discussion on where it begins.

IT is hard to say, but I believe that it begins with the introduction of new number systems. Maybe not the COMPLEX number system, but the systems in general, such as the Natural, along with this I also believe that introduction to forumlas such as area and circumference are also part of the pre-algebraic system.

What are your thoughts?
